Southern Colorado Based Photographer Celebrating Family
The day began at a vacation rental in a quiet neighborhood of Fort Collins. The house was large enough to accommodate Emily’s family and a few extra’s. There was a calm hustle and bustle going on throughout the home to get everyone ready for the big day. When I walked into the main getting ready area, I saw something I have never seen before. The bride was doing someone else’s hair!!! No bridezilla here! Emily is always thinking of others. And of course, she looked beautiful in her bridal robe.
She met Remi at the Fort Collins Temple where they signed the marriage license and were officially wed. I have never seen such an excited bride coming out of the temple! They both were all smiles. It is clear they were soaking up all the goodness of the beginning of forever as husband and wife. A few shots of the whole party and it was off to Ginger & Baker for the ring ceremony and dinner.
Ginger & Baker is an iconic cafe/bakery/steakhouse/event center located in downtown Fort Collins. It has amazing food, which was obvious by the buzz of people always present, and such a fun atmosphere. Plus, the private event room with brick walls and wood beam ceiling was a perfect place for a wedding ceremony. Most of Emily and Remi’s family were present to witness the ring ceremony and after a very short time outside taking family pictures, the room was transformed into a formal dining hall. The room was stunning with food and wedding cake from Ginger & Baker, fresh flowers provided by Finishing Touches, printed menus and other cute details by Next Door Print Shop, and decorations and vision provided by the very talented mother of the bride herself. After dinner and cake cutting we bid everyone else safe travels and stepped outside again for a few bridal party photos.
Then came my favorite part of the day, golden hour and bride and groom formals. These are the pics that are going to be displayed in homes and shared with family for generations to come. Even after a long day, they both were picture-perfect. Emily was gorgeous in her scoop neck, half sleeve, lace over wedding gown, and floor-length veil. And let me remind you, gorgeous hair done by the bride herself! (Oh to have hair like Emily’s!!!) Remi looked dashing in his blue suit and sage tie. These two are so fun and so sweet I could have taken pictures all night, but alas, the sun did go down and we said our goodbyes.
The next time we met was a week later at the reception in Manassa. Tomena had worked her magic again, with the help of both families, and it was breathtaking. This time she provided her own fresh flowers!! The party was relaxed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It was a fun ending to a special line of events celebrating this amazing couple.
Thank you, Emily & Remi, for letting me be part of your special time, and capturing a little of your love story. The best part is that it is just beginning. You will do amazing things and share so much joy together. Congrats to you both!!!!
