Elena & Spencer-Engagement Session

What a story!!!  They rode next to each other on the plane from the MTC to Canada, not knowing that they would be significant in the life of the other until they started dating after their missions.  Fast forward to August 2019.  That’s when I came into the picture.  Elena’s sister, Alexa, filled me in on Spencer’s clever plan.  Alexa would get the family together to do a family photo session.  We would take a few pictures of Alexa’s family and then get Elena in front of the camera with a niece or nephew.  Then the big surprise!  Spencer would come from behind Elena, get her attention, and propose.  Boy, did he get her attention!!!!  She was completely surprised and overjoyed.  Of course she said yes.  It was the sweetest photo session I have ever been a part of.  She cried, the family cried, I cried, (while taking pictures)!  I don’t think Spencer cried, but that’s ok.  🙂  There was no doubt that he was just as excited!!!

That was my first experience with these two, and I was already impressed with their fun personalities, their love for each other, and their kindness and concern for others.  As I was able to spend another evening with them during their engagement session, I became even more impressed.  They did the location scouting and came up with two beautiful and perfect spots!  They smiled easily and had the best time.  Both of them got so excited when I showed them the back of my camera.  Elena said it was exactly what she had dreamed of her whole life.  And if her dreams consisted of a knight in shining armor, I do believe her dreams are coming true.  I have a hunch, that Spencer’s dreams are coming true too!!!

Thank you, Elena and Spencer, for sharing with me this amazing journey you are on.  What a special time.  I am so grateful I get to document it for you to someday share with your children and grandchildren.  Thank you for the light and example you are to others.  And as Disney says, “Dreams really do come true.”  Keep living your dreams!!!!
