Her plan was to be married next year, in the fall.  She had dreams of her wedding taking place among the beautiful trees and mild weather of the San Luis Valley autumns.  And she had a whole year to put together the perfect wedding!  That was the plan until her father got sick.  Then she made the decision that showed everyone what was really important to her.  Yes, she would still get married in the fall, but she would not wait until it was easy or convenient for her.  She would get married this fall, 2019.  Sure, that gave her only a month or two to plan, but that wasn’t important.  She would have her loved ones with her to share in this special time, and that is what mattered to Kat.

I’m a wedding photographer.  I love elegant white dresses, stunning details, and gorgeous locations!  I love cute flower girls and ring bearers, (Delilah and Ryker, you are the best), and beautiful bridesmaids.  There is nothing wrong with beautiful things and there were plenty of beautiful things and people at Kat and Josh’s wedding.  But in the end, when it’s all said and done, what is it that lasts?  The marriage vow, special people to support you in your new union, and God’s blessing is all that really matters.

Thank you, Kat and Josh for letting me share in your special day.  The love that you have for each other, for your children and your family was so evident and so uplifting.   Yes, your wedding was beautiful, but I am sure your marriage will be even more so.  As Darlene Schacht once wrote, “I can’t promise you that marriage will be easy, but I can say that marriage the way God intended it to be is a treasure worth fighting for.”  Congratulations Kat and Josh!!!!  You have great days ahead!!!
