Shallyn & Max Wedding | Menkhaven Lodge

In the words of Frank Sinatra, “It Had To Be You.” I can’t picture a more fitting couple. Shallyn & Max are a perfect match and their wedding day was a dream come true. (Other than the rain, maybe!)

I drizzled off and on throughout the morning and afternoon, fortunaltely staying away during wedding party formals and a few bride and groom pictures before the ceremony. We were able to do the first look the week before in perfect weather so that was a relief. Three cheers for first looks before the day of the wedding!!! The cereomny looked in danger of rain but the sun came out and blessed us with a breathtaking backdrop. Shallyn’s dad gave her away, Max shed a few tears as his bride walked up the aisle, the officiant made it short and beautiful, and the bride and groom cheered as they were pronounced husband and wife.

The rain did come on this wedding day, and it came hard and fast, but was nice enough to wait until after dinner. Shallyn and Max were the best sports as they danced and sang and had the time of their life, all the while getting soaking wet. I think that says a lot about what kind of people they are. The kind that faces life head on, makes the best of everyday, and dances in the rain.

Shallyn & Max, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day, and thank you for showing me how to dance in the rain. I wish you the best and know you will find it.
