What a fun love story!!! They met on the Martin’s Cove trek reenactment when he was 16 and she was 15. He said the first thing he noticed about her was her beautiful blue eyes and couldn’t stop looking at her. He was mesmerized!!! They went to prom together, twice! First Candace asked Brian to her high school prom in Alamosa. After an extremely eventful night of him being late, a traffic stop, searching for the restaurant, and a credit card that wouldn’t work, he wasn’t sure if she would want to go with him again. He put together a poster complete with reminders of all the mishaps and the question, “Are you up for another adventure?”, to invite her to his prom. She said yes!
Fast forward a two-year mission to Costa Rica, and almost a year of college and he put together another poster. This one also reminisced about fun times together and had the same question, “Are you up for another adventure?” This time her roommates were holding the poster and he was on one knee holding a ring!!! SHE SAID YES!!! On April 24, 2021, their forever-together adventure begins.
I can’t express the feelings I have for this son of mine!!! He is more than a mother could ask for. Sweet, kind, ambitious, strong, determined, fun, and good, (not to mention handsome)!!! He has always been a light in our home and someone we all love being around and strive to emulate. The old saying goes, “If you want to know how a boy will treat his wife, watch how he treats his mom.” If that is true then Candace is one lucky girl!
Candace is full of smiles, laughter, excitement, and adventure! Brian loves the fun she brings into his life. He also loves her artistic and musical abilities, her kind heart, the way she serves others, her easy-going nature, and her strong spirit. He feels so blessed to be able to spend forever with her and we can’t wait to have her officially in our family!!!
Candace and Brian, you are a beautiful couple!!! You have so much going for you and I can’t wait to be part of your forever!!! I feel honored to be a part of and capture this moment in time! It is the first of many pictures I will cherish of you two as a family.
Since I am the mom, I can’t pass up an opportunity to share some unsolicited advice. That’s what moms do, right? 🙂 I like James Thurber’s simple definition of love when he said, “Love is what you go through together.” Remember that it’s not always going to be easy, and things rarely turn out as planned, but with God as your guide, you can cherish each other and your marriage, and life will be good! Love you both to the moon and back!!!!
