Southern Colorado Based Photographer Celebrating Family
Dear Sister Caldon,
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the California Sacramento Mission.
Nothing is quite as exciting, nerve-wracking, and overwhelming as opening the mission call. Whether you have your whole extended family there to take pictures and record the event or if you choose to open it surrounded by no one, it is still an exciting yet scary time. Will I like where I am called, and will I be able to get used to the culture and people? Will I find people to teach? Will I get along with my companions? Lots of questions and lots of unknowns going into serving a mission.
I don’t know who surrounded Madison when she opened her call, nor do I know what feelings she had or what was going through her mind. I don’t pretend to know how a missionary or future missionary feels since I have not been one, (a situation I plan to remedy as soon as all the kids leave the nest!!!) But I do know, by spending two short hours with her, that she will make a good one!!!
Madison is sweet and kind, smart and fun, and as pretty as a picture!!! But more attractive than all these qualities is that she is full of light. That is the only way I can describe it. She radiates light and happiness. I can imagine that the people of Sacramento California will be drawn to her and the message she brings because she and it are full of light. I know there are people waiting for that light and that Sister Caldon will be an instrument in bringing them to the source of that light, Jesus Christ.
Sister Caldon, thank you for spending the next 18 months of your life away from your family so that others will be able to spend eternity with theirs. Thank you for being full of faith and choosing to serve in whatever way this crazy world will allow at this crazy time. I know you will have a part in changing lives and moving the Lord’s work forward!!! You will be a great missionary!!!
