Marli & Sterling | Old Iron Bridge Engagement Session

“If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it. You never abuse it. You don’t expose it to the elements. You don’t make it common or ordinary. If it ever becomes tarnished, you lovingly polish it until it gleams like new. It becomes special because you have made it so, and it grows more beautiful and precious as time goes by.”

—F. Burton Howard

Marli & Sterling are building something special together. I could see it in the first ten seconds I was with them. It was fun to watch their playful banter, kind concern for each other, and the special bond they have. It was also so fun to share this evening with my better half, him coming along as assistant, and Marli’s supportive family. It was a party!!!

As in most sessions in the San Luis Valley, especially in April, the wind was an unwelcome guest. Luckily, we were able to find some reprieve in the canyon at the Old Iron Bridge. The beautiful rock wall and lazy river make a great backdrop for this hideout. The stunning bridge is an amazing place to capture the sunset and we were able to enjoy its beauty later in the session. Marli & Sterling endured the cold and wind and all my crazy ideas to get the right shot, all the while flashing their bright smiles and taking it all in stride.

Marli and Sterling, thank you for spending the evening with me. Thank you for allowing me to capture your story. You are what I think of as a power couple! You are both strong and good, but together you are going to be an impressive and beautiful team. I can’t wait to see you as bride and groom!!
