Blair & Kylan: First Look/Bride & Groom Session

We didn’t have the best luck with the weather!  Both the engagement session and first look were two of the most fridged days this winter.  Not to be deterred, Blair & Kylan showed up ready to brave the cold.  With some blankets and car breaks to warm up, we were able to keep frostbite and red noses at bay.  I guess true love can thaw frozen fingers as easily as a frozen heart.  🙂

First looks can be tricky to plan but worth every effort.  The way Blair and Kylan decided to do it was to meet at the location in separate cars.  Another option would be to bring the groom along blindfolded.  (Make sure he is not the driver, haha.)  Some couples like to bring family or friends along to witness the special occasion, while others like to be completely alone.  Getting there without seeing each other is the hard part.  Once everyone is there, it’s a simple matter to place the groom in the perfect spot while the bride is out of sight.  He has his back turned while the bride walks up to him, taps him on the shoulder, and then the magic starts to happen.  It is one of my favorite moments as a photographer!!  I don’t think it’s the white dress, dark suit, or fancy updo that brings the sacred feelings at that moment.  No, I think it is the realization that it is really happening.  That, in a short time, the two of them will be one, forever!!!  After a few minutes to take it all in, the fun begins!   Highlighting the details of the day, celebrating the couple’s love for each other, and capturing moments they will want to remember forever is the best part of my job!!!

Blair is a stunning bride in her perfectly fit gown, beautiful updo, and gorgeous smile!  She looks like she’s ready for the cover of Bride’s magazine.  Kylan looks like a knight in shining armor, minus the white horse, but I don’t think Blair seems to mind.  She has been swept off her feet anyway!  Thank you, Blair & Kylan, for allowing me to capture moments your posterity will cherish forever.  I can’t think of a more perfect couple, inside and out!  Congratulations on your sealing.  You two will make a great team!!!
