Makenna & Adam

As a wedding photographer, you end up spending a lot of time with the bride and groom.  So it is important that personalities click and ideas mesh.  My big goal at weddings is to help them enjoy their special day while capturing memories for them that they will cherish for a lifetime.  I drove five hours to photograph a wedding of two people I had never met in person.  Makenna Canty and Adam Baird were being sealed in the Fort Collins temple on September 6th 2019.  I met them for the first time the night before their wedding.  Any apprehension I had melted away when I met this sweet couple.  Adam is full of life, makes everything fun, and is absolutely head over heels in love with Makenna.  I can see why!  Makenna is kind, easy going, always concerned for others and incredibly beautiful!!!  I knew right away, this was going to be fun!

Not only did I get to enjoy the special couple, but I also got to know their families.  I was especially grateful to spend time with and learn from Makenna’s sister and fellow photographer, Ali McDaniel.  She has been doing this much longer than I, and was so gracious in allowing me to tag along for the bride and groom photos, and helping me on the wedding day.  Ali is an amazing photographer with so much wisdom and talent.   It’s good to be in a profession where there is a mutual desire to help and lift each other.  No matter your profession, everyone needs encouragement from someone that has been there and knows the ropes.  We all need an Ali in our life, don’t we?  Thank you Ali, for being an amazing and inspiring mentor!!!

Thank you, Makenna and Adam,  for being a light to others, including me.  You have inspired me and reminded me to enjoy life and enjoy others.  You are the sweetest couple and I am so grateful I am able to call you friends.  Because as Barbara Bush once said, “When all the dust is settled and all the crowds are gone, the things that matter are faith, family, and friends.”  Well said!!!!
