Coombs Family Session

What makes a 18 year old boy, just out of high school, want to travel halfway across the world to teach a people, he is not familiar with, the gospel of Jesus Christ?  No visits home, no one visiting him, emailing or calling just once a week, missing holidays and special events with family FOR TWO YEARS!  That is what Jeremy has decided to do, and that is why mom decided she needed family pictures before he left.  Jeremy is called to serve the people of Samoa and learn the Samoan language as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Jeremy is one of more than 67,000 missionaries serving in over 400 missions throughout the world.  Why am I talking about this?  Why is this dear to my heart?  If you are familiar with me at all, you know that my son is also one the 67,000 missionaries.  He has been out for over a year and I have to say that, despite how deeply I miss him, it has been such a huge blessing in his life and the life of our family.  Reasons people go on missions would vary, I assume, and be very personal, but I do know that the Lord compensates with abundant blessings any sacrifice involved.  Good luck, Jeremy!!  You will bless many lives these next two years.

I don’t think I have ever laughed so much at a session before.  This family is funny!!!!  I have always admired people with wit and humor, (probably because of my lack of it 🙂 ), and I love watching families that can have fun and laugh together easily.  I believe that our families should be the source of our greatest happiness and the Coombs family has definitely figured this out.

Thank you, Coombs family, for allowing me to spend the evening with you and enjoy your family.  Thank you for being willing to backtrack so we could find the good light, and thank you Charlotte and Nathan, for doing the couple pose, even though that is not your thing.  🙂 They turned out great!!!  You have a amazing family!  Enjoy the next two years.  They are going to be awesome!
