Southern Colorado Based Photographer Celebrating Family
It was supposed to be great weather all evening. When we got to the disc golf course in Alamosa and it was great weather. As my amazing assistant (my husband) and I scouted a good location for pictures, we were somewhat challenged by the wet areas of the course, but were able to find many great spots and came up with a game plan for the evening. As the Baker family arrived, the clouds started rolling in. We got a few pictures in before we had to take a break in the vehicles to let a rain cloud blow past. When we were able to head out again, we went straight for the “wobbly” bridge, as Nathan, the oldest of the three cute boys, called it. The rain stayed away just long enough to capture a few pics of the boys playing on the “wobbly” bridge and then we decided to pack it in. We rescheduled for the next week, but as it got closer, the thunder cloud forecast pushed us off for another week. Getting kids (to say nothing of the parents) ready for family pictures is quite the feat, but having to do it more than once, is nothing short of gold medal deserving!!! We were finally able to hit upon a dry day, and other than the mud, the bugs, and the scratched knee, things went well.
Thank you, Lani and Dan for being so flexible with the weather, the less than ideal location, the “wobbly” bridge, the mud, the bug bite, the falling off the log accident and all that went with your family session. Your kids are so fun and so cute and I love how they knew my name and wanted to tell me all about everything. I could listen to their stories for hours. We are big friends now, you know! I loved how well they got along and how I could feel the love you have for each of your children and for each other. You have a good thing going. Keep it up. One day, when they are grown and you can hardly remember what they were like at this age, you will be glad you got them dressed up and psyched up one more time for pictures. Isn’t that what parenting is all about anyway, trying over and over again until we get it right? At least, that’s what my parenting looks like. 🙂
