Extended Family Session at Penitente Canyon

Stylez is the name of her hair salon.  I have gone to her for years.  Recently, I was complimented on the color of my hair.  The compliment included how much this stranger loved all my natural highlights.  Now I hate to tell on myself, but Brittany and I both know, there is nothing natural about my highlights (hee hee).  I smiled and thought of how smart I was to have a really good hair stylist in my corner.  I am not only grateful for her talent, but also for her friendship.  I have loved watching her children grow up and learning about their school, interests and hobbies.  I have loved chatting about the family plans for the weekend or agreeing on how funny, hard or discouraging parts of parenting can be.

That is why I was so excited to get this cute family in front of my camera.  And to have Brooke and her family join us was extra exciting!   I admire these two sisters.  They are both moms of two amazing families, they both own their own business, and they are beautiful inside and out.  It’s tough keeping up with family, business, home duties, church responsibilities, school and sport activities and on and on.  But these two seem to always have it together.  Brittany and Brooke, it may not seem that way to you, but you really are amazing and doing a great work!!!

Thank you for spending the evening with me in one of my favorite places!!!  I loved watching the kids climb massive rocks in their dress clothes.  It was great to be walking along the path and have two kids hiding in the bushes to jump out and scare their dad.  I especially liked watching Nic wrestle with the kids and everyone looking forward to the ice cream he was going to buy them when we were done with pictures.  Families and ice cream; two of my favorite things!!!
