Reed Family & Anniversary Session

They will be married 20 years in December.  They have eight children, including the one they didn’t get to keep.  Yet, they look like a young couple ready to start a life together.  As we took pictures, the passing strangers were definitely fooled.  How do I know?  Because of the congratulations they said as they passed by.  It was quite comical to see the reaction of this couple as people congratulated them on their engagement.  It seems they wanted to stop and relate to the kind people that they, in fact, have been married for 19 years and  know much more about life than a new couple could.  Or at least tell them that they appreciate the sentiment, but that it was not necessary.  In the end, they just smiled and said, “thank you.”  It was an easy mistake to make.

Tomena had an empty wall and had been looking at Pinterest, a dangerous combination.  She knew what it needed.  I picture of each of her kids arranged perfectly.  A few head shots turned into a short family session, and a long anniversary session.  It was fun spending some time with this good looking bunch.  From the muddy, mosquito infested field with the beautiful mountain background, to the busy downtown streets of Alamosa, these people were up for anything.

Thank you, Tomena, for trusting me to capture your children’s personalities and the love between you and Marlin.  You are beautiful!!!  Thank you, Marlin, for being willing to stand on main street in a suit and tie, (a flowered tie, no less), and smile at my camera.  Your wife is a lucky girl!  And thank you, Reed family, for allowing me to capture memories that would otherwise be gone too quickly.   As your family grows up and parts ways, (tears for Emily), may you always be as close as you are now and remember that families are the BEST!!!
