Southern Colorado Based Photographer Celebrating Family
The whole elementary clapped, cheered and hollered as Mr. T. was recognized. This was his last day of his 30 year career in education. It was apparent that they loved him! He had touched many lives, some were present, some were not. It would be impossible to count the many lives he has blessed in his career. How many students, parents or fellow colleagues has he uplifted with a pat on the back, a kind word, or a “you can do this” smile? How many times has he excited his classroom with history facts or tales of firefighting and rescue helicopters? How grateful I am that he was able to pass on this excitement for learning and this love for others to my own children!!!
His legacy does not stop there, though. Tom, (aka Mr. T.) and his wife Jean, have built another legacy. It was easy to spot after about ten seconds with them. Their pride and joy is their family! A family that has grown from two children, to two families and nine grandchildren. In a world that does not value family life, they seem to understand its value. They understand that, “what happens in cradles and kitchens will prove to be more controlling than what happens in congresses.”
Salazar family, you touch my heart! What a great example you are! When I am cleaning up spilled milk, wiping noses, or doing incredible amounts of laundry, the why of it all doesn’t always seem clear. As I watched your family interact and felt the love you have for each other, I realized what I had always known. It’s worth it, and FAMILIES ARE THE BEST!!!
